I just received your documents confirming that my Pardon request has been granted and complete. It truly is with great relief, yet embarrassment that this part of my life occurred and the weight of shame it carries. It is not the person I am or choose to be.
Thank you very much for making this Pardon possible, and allowing me to move forward in my life, although I have been positively for many years. Thank you for the correspondence via email when I had questions to follow up throughout this process. Most of all thank you for the letter I received dated August 8th, 2018 confirming destruction of my file.

I am writing this letter of appreciation with the assistance of my Family Support Worker, (name redacted). My name is (redacted), and I am 35 years old. I have an intellectual disability.
I feel that a burden has been lifted and I am really thankful for relieving the stress of having to deal with this. I am very thankful that I get the opportunity to travel now to different parts of the country.
I am very appreciative of the help they provided me and that I can now work at a job. I will not break the law again and will not go through this again.

Thank you to Pardons Canada for removing my criminal record and giving me an opportunity to start fresh. I feel as if a big load was lifted off my shoulders. I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m just so grateful for a second chance.
I hope you can help others just like me and get them off their feet with a fresh new start just like me. Having a criminal record is nothing to be proud of and I learned from this. Thank you again!
